Raghuveera Gadyam

Author: Swami Vedanta Desika

Tradition: Sri Vaishnava stotra

Desikan's prose-poem in praise of Rama's valor.

Raghuveera Gadyam (in praise of Rama's heroic valor)

Salutations to the hero of the Raghus, whose mighty shoulders and unfailing bow scatter the demon hosts — the valor sung by the devout.

Swami Vedanta Desika’s Raghuveera Gadyam glorifies Rama precisely as the heroic destroyer of the rakshasa forces — the theme Kamban’s Pāyiram v.12 names in “தோள் வலி கூறுவார்க்கே” (for those who sing of Rama’s arm-strength).

Editor’s note (verify before publishing): confirm the exact Gadyam passage and its standard citation; this is a thematic placeholder linking the Gadyam’s praise-of-valor to the verse.
